The GEMS Triathlon Academy presented by Emma Carney provides talented young triathletes from 8–18 with training and learning opportunities that will push them to higher levels of conditioning, skills and race management. Using the highly successful coaching philosophies and experience of Double World Triathlon Champion Emma Carney, athletes will develop the habits and mindset that can take them to the top.

GEMS Triathlon Academy provides young triathletes with a comprehensive, positive and supportive environment that prepares them for their highest performance ability in the coming years.

Unlike single-mode sports, triathlon combines three different sports: swimming, cycling and running. Our programme covers anything from fundamental skills and sound techniques to transition and mental preparation to help our students become high-performing athletes across all three disciplines. To support our extensive programme, world-class facilities such as an Olympic-sized swimming pool, indoor cycling space, all-weather sports field, sports hall with indoor climbing wall and a weights room are available at GEMS (Singapore).

Emma Carney: Head Coach

Emma is a former professional triathlete and a two-time World Triathlon Champion. She is one of the few triathletes in the world to have won two ITU world titles. Emma’s wealth of professional experience and successful coaching philosophy help athletes to develop the habits and mindset that can take them to the top.

Shannon Diedricks
Shannon Diedricks: Head Coach

As a former head coach of the Shanghai HD Bilingual School teams, Shannon brings a wealth of experience to the GEMS Triathlon Academy and very excited about providing high-performance triathlon opportunities for our young athletes. He is also a successful triathlete and multiple Ironman 70.3 participant.
